Ensembles

Community Concert Band

The UTSC Alumni & Community Concert Band is a group of enthusiastic musicians of all ages, who get together once a week to enjoy an evening making music with friends. Founded in the fall of 2010, the band has experienced rapid growth since its establishment.  Many students in the departmental Concert Band opt to join this ensemble as well, appreciating the opportunity to play more modern music, and mingle with a widely diverse group of musicians. Auditions are held primarily at the beginning of September, but we are open to accepting musicians at any point throughout the year.

Vocomotive

Vocomotive is UTSC’s student-run a cappella choir! If you’re interested in playing some fun, popular music, you should consider joining this ensemble.

The ensemble debuted in Summer 2013, under the conducting of Brian Chang and accompanists Michael Gomiega and Daniel Johnston. This four-voice (SATB) choir consists of 25-30 dedicated alumni, community members, and students who enjoy singing choral works. Although some musical experience is recommended, it is not required for membership.  No auditions!
